Mentoring, Life Skills, and Equipping for Life
Sonwabise-Tese is a community outreach initiated and run by, Barbara Chisvo and Yandiswa Mazwane. We saw a need in the local community of Masiphumelele in Cape Town, South Africa. We reach out and offer to mentor young women and to impart life skills and wisdom necessary for living life well.
They meet weekly with 30 – 60 young girls (ages 10 to 18). They play, share, teach, mentor and build deep, caring relationships together. Sonwabise-Tese teaches art, baking, sewing, cooking and knitting. They also supplying girls with toiletries and sanitary products on a monthly basis.
